Webster County Summer SOLE and WVU Energy Express will be collecting necessary items to send to the victims of the recent floods in Marion and Ohio County. Donations can be brought to the following locations:
Glade Elementary at 25 Mill St. Cowen, Monday through Friday from 8:30-12:00.
Webster Springs Elementary at 318 River Dr. Webster Springs, Monday through Friday from 8:30-12:00.
Webster County Board of Education at 315 S. Main St. Webster Springs, Monday through Friday from 8:00-4:00.
All locations will be closed on Friday, June 20th in observance of WV Day.
The following items are needed:
Bleach, gloves (work and latex), toilet paper, mops, paper towels, rakes, brooms, trash bags, contractors trash bags, shovels, spray bottles, first aid kits, paper plates and utensils, flashlights, portable batteries/chargers for phones and other devices, muck boots, pet food, shelf stable food, and manual can openers.
We encourage anyone who is able to donate to help our northern neighbors. While we are not collecting monetary donations, you can contact the Tygart's Valley United Way at (304) 366-4550 for Marion County assistance or the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley at (304) 232-4625 for Ohio County.
